Dr. Brian Bacot

Dr. Brian Bacot | Comprehensive Orthopaedic GlobalAn Alabama native, Dr. Bacot graduated summa cum laude from Alabama A & M and then continued on to The University of Alabama-Birmingham's School of Medicine. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at The University of Miami School of Medicine/Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Fla.

During his residency, Dr. Bacot's research pursuits included corrective procedures for children with Blount's disease, a progressive bowing of the legs, and surgical outcomes research for patients with cervical fusions.

Upon completion of his residency, Dr. Bacot accepted a Fellowship in Arthritis and Adult Reconstruction at the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham. There he received further training, and helped develop innovations in joint reconstruction and arthritis care, including the latest techniques in minimally invasive hip and knee replacements.

Prior to moving to St. Thomas, Dr. Bacot was the founder of a very successful, state-of-the-art practice in Atlanta, GA. With his pleasant and caring bedside manner, innovative, minimally invasive techniques, and emphasis on pain management – which all lea d to rapid recovery and reduced pain – he has become a surgeon of choice throughout the US. During his years in private practice, Dr. Bacot has had a steady flow of patients who traveled from all over the world to see him.

Dr. Bacot cares about his patients as people and is committed to creating a physician-patient relationship that enhances restorations and recovery. His goal is not simply to run the race, but to set the standard and provide the best in orthopedic health care to become the orthopedic care provider of choice.

Dr. Bacot is deeply involved in his local and international community by actively contributing and being involved with local school activities, sponsoring sporting events and teams as well as contributing to many local charities. His involvement with international healthcare and services include teaching to local healthcare professionals in Costa Rica with the international organization Healthcare Volunteers Overseas. In 2010, Dr. Bacot was one of the first orthopedist from the territory to arrive in earthquake-ravaged Port-au-Prince.

When not working, Dr. Bacot enjoys outdoor activities such as kayaking, boating, traveling, and NASCAR racing.

Dr. Alexander Lenard

Dr. Alexander Lenard | Comprehensive Orthopaedic GlobalDr. Alexander Lenard expertise includes spinal fractures, spinal stenosis and trauma. Dr. Lenard travels several times a month to see patients in all COG offices/clinics of St. Thomas, St. John & St. Croix.

Dr. Alexander Lenard is on staff at the Orthopeaedic Care Specialists in North Palm Beach, Florida and the Director of Spine Trauma and Spine Surgery at St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach. Dr. Lenard’s believes in providing the highest level of skilled medical care. Dr. Bacot and Dr. Lenard have known each other for many years and he is delighted to have the opportunity to assist with the COG practice.

Dr. Lenard graduated cum laude, from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and graduated from Temple University School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency at the University of Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital and University of California San Francisco Spine Surgery.

Dr. Julia C. Gardner

Dr. Julia C. Gardner | Comprehensive Orthopaedic GlobalDr. Gardner provides COG patients with hands on knowledge regarding musculoskeletal conditions. She believes it’s important that each patient understands the options available to ensure optimal relief.

She realizes that decisions for orthopedic care can be overwhelming for patients and she is available to patients as an expert in patient care and education. Her goal is to have the patient leave the office confident that they understand exactly what to expect.

Dr. Gardner received her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center and completed her internship and residency at the University of Michigan Hospitals, Ann Arbor. She spent several years working as a traveling doctor providing orthopedic care to underserved communities throughout the U.S. She relocated to the Virgin Island in 2006.

Dr. Linda C. Jackson

Dr. Linda C. Jackson | Comprehensive Orthopaedic GlobalDr. Jackson heads the office of St. Croix – COG, which is a full service orthopedic office. Dr. Jackson is fellowship trained in hand and upper extremity surgery and has perfected the treatment of common and complex hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder conditions.

She is the first African American woman to earn a Bachelor of Arts Degree in engineering science at Dartmouth College and graduated cum laude. She received her medical degree from Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons and orthopedic residency at the University of Connecticut and Hartford Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut.
